Chameleons can change their skin pattern. While often used for protective camouflage, this particular chameleon is illustrating a drought map to raise awareness about climate change.

I've learned that many zoos are no longer cages of desperation, but have become triage centers combating extinction. They work tirelessly, at little to no pay, to save the world the rest of us are actively destroying.
